Do you like this story?
BC Fires Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski after he meets with the NY Jets- What The F*&%

BC Athletic Director Gene DeFillippo said in a press conference "I Love Jags" and then fired him. He cited a difference over visions of the future as the reason for firing the HC. After all, the only thing that Jags did in his two years at the program was bring his team to the ACC Championship game, TWICE. Are you kidding me?
Jags sat down with the Jets and interviewed for a job that he is definitely not getting. Now he is currently unemployed. He went 20-8 in two years and he doesn't have a job.
DeFillipo is quoted as saying "We will find somebody who really wants to be at Boston College and will be here for the length of their contract." Missing from that statement was that they will find someone who will win games. more here
The Real Story: This has got to go down as one of the most bone-headed moves of all time. It absolutely defies logic. Your HC is tremendously successful at your school and is asked to interview for an NFL job and you fire him. I guess it looks like Irish Tom O'Brien made a pretty good move going to the WolfPack Huh?
Fear The Sweater-Vest, unless your playing in a BCS Bowl-Then not so much

Yet again, The Sweater-Vest and slOhio State lost a BCS Bowl for the third year in a row. Outside of that gift wrapped, OT 2000 National Championship Game, The Sweater-Vest has lost all of his shots at BCS Bowl glory. In The Nudge's opinion, there is no way that slOhio deserved to win that 2000 NC. The flag for pass interference was pulled out of the ref's pocket about fifteen minutes after the play was over. slOhio lost the Fiesta Bowl to Tex-Ass 24-21. They went into halftime with a 6-3 lead. But after Terrelle Pryor looked like he lost his accuracy in the second half, The Vest became too conservative with his play calling. It was a great game, but Tex-Ass didn't win it, The Vest lost it.
The Real Story: Nobody has more respect for The Sweater-Vest than I do. The guy can flat out recruit. The problem isn't with him, it's with the Big Ten. They're horrible. If you put slOhio in the SEC or Pac-ten, they're a mid-range good team at best. But continually playing in the Big Ten, they win everything every year, and it's just going to continue. Here's the thing, if slOhio is playing in a Non-BCS bowl next year, take em. But if they're playing in a BCS next year, they're going to lose. And I got news for you, next year, I have slOhio winning almost every game on their schedule. so you know what that means-Put'em in another BCS National Championship Game in 2010. I see big things from Pryor, the guy has all-world talent. And I don't think them losing their MLB and Top-Cover Corner are really going to affect them all that much. So I guess we're just gonna have to watch this movie over and over and over again.
Louisville QB Matt Simms to transfer out

Former New Joysey Don Bosco Prep QB, Matt Simms will transfer out of Steve Kragthorpe's program. Simms red shirted his first year and sat this year behind Hunter Cantwell. Simms father is the New Joysey legend Phil Simms and his brother played at some school in Texas where he sat on the bench while some midget set all of the schools passing records. What was that guy's name? I know it rhymed with Say-jor Mapplewhite. more here
The Real Story: Simms had an awesome prep career playing for one of the most dominant High School programs in the country. He was being recruited hard by Schiano and the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers would have fit Simms playing style a lot more than pass-happy Louisville. He already burned his redshirt, so if he goes to another D-1 school, he'll have to eat up a year of eligibility. It's just surprising that he's leaving. You would have thought that Chris Simms would have left Texas. Matt should head over to Piscataway and sit out for a year. With Teel leaving, he could get two years of starting time.
USC Super Recruit QB Matt Barkley silenced all of the critics when he played in the Under Armour H.S. All American game. Coming into the game, Barkley had been dropping on everyone's recruit list because he wasn't putting up the eye popping numbers and winning the big games in his senior year at Mater Dei H.S. in Santa Ana, California. Matt turned out to be the best player on the field when all of the best in the country came out to play.
The Real Story: Barkley is entering USC currently on the depth chart behind Dirty Sanchez, Mitch Mustain and Aaron Corp. When Dirty Sanchez declares for the draft, Barkley has a legitimate shot at earning a starting spot next year. I have not been impressed with Mustain at USC. At Ar-Kansas, I thought he was great and that he was given a bad deal by Houston Nutt. I think Nutt's ego got in the way between the Nutt-Malzahn-Mustain soap opera. I doubt however that the kid will touch the field for at least two more years. Corp should transfer right away, and the fact that he isn't means that he probably banging a couple of the "Song Girls", that's the only thing that I could figure.
Gawgia QB Mathew Stafford and RB "New Joysey's Own" Knowshon Moreno both will fore go their eligibility and seek employment in the No Fun League. Stafford in my opinion is headed for penal servitude playing in Detroit for the next five years. Under the harsh punishment that his offensive line will allow him to take, I see him being labeled as the next David Carr.
When asked about going to Detroit and an 0-16 team, Stafford told the AP, "That's fine with me. I'd love to play anywhere that wants me to play and try to make them a winner."
Knowshon projects to be a late 1st rounder and will probably have a much better and much longer career (barring a draft day trade for the Lions number 1 pick). more here
The underclassmen join an ever growing list of players that have declared for the draft. The top names are CB Vontae Davis (Illini), DL Sen'Derrick Marks (Lushburn), CB/All around fast guy
D.J. Moore (Vandy), WR Hakeem Nicks (Thug-Deep), OT Andre "Okay, I got caught, so what, I'm rich Byatch" Smith (Bama), and RB Shonn "Lucky" Greene (Iowa).
D.J. Moore (Vandy), WR Hakeem Nicks (Thug-Deep), OT Andre "Okay, I got caught, so what, I'm rich Byatch" Smith (Bama), and RB Shonn "Lucky" Greene (Iowa).
Coming soon, intricate draft analysis on all of the prospects.
The Real Story: Stafford has had first rounder written all over him for the past four years. This isn't a surprise. And The Nudge has been telling Gawgia fans all about Knowshon ever since he declared to go there in his senior season. What was so surprising was after Gawgia's bowl win, Stafford was asked whether or not he would be going into the draft, and he really wasn't sure. Mark Richt isn't crying too much. Yes he loses a lot of firepower, but next year he has Joe Cox out of Chris Leak's Independence H.S. behind the center. And in two years, he has Elite11 QB's Zach Mettenberger and Aaron Murray with two years in his system. The winner in all this is Gawgia RB Super Recruit Caleb King who will finally get the chance to be the featured back in the system. Look for King next year, and declaring for the draft come 01/10.
